Risks of opening ports for UDP traffic

Hi,
When we configure a range of ports for a mediasoup server, that allows UDP/TCP, will it put our server at risk of being exploited by hacks?

This is a question raised by some of our colleagues.

As far as I understand, we are not exposing any services at these ports, right?

Can these ports be used to attack our server and take advantage of any critical services (like a database connection) running on it?

Sorry, this question is no related to mediasoup by any means.
