For Flutter developers, we’ve released an update to mediasfu_mediasoup_client that addresses some important issues and adds new codec support.
PACKAGE UPDATE
WHAT’S FIXED
Chrome M140 Video Sending Bug
The recent Chrome M140 update introduced a video sending issue that affected Flutter applications. This update resolves that problem, restoring normal video transmission functionality.
NEW CODEC SUPPORT
PCMU (G.711 μ-law) and PCMA (G.711 A-law) Support
We’ve added support for PCMU and PCMA codecs, which are essential for VoIP telephony integration and AI voice applications. This is particularly useful if you’re building:
• VoIP telephony systems with mediasoup
• AI voice agents that need to interface with traditional telephony networks
• Applications requiring compatibility with SIP systems
• Voice AI applications that need wide codec support
These codecs provide compatibility with legacy telephony infrastructure while maintaining the flexibility of mediasoup’s media routing capabilities.
SAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION
If you’re interested in seeing these features in action, we’ve put together a sample VoIP application built with Flutter and mediasoup:
